Role Overview

Data Scientist in the Data Science department, based in Bengaluru, will work onsite to design, develop, and maintain scalable application programming interfaces (APIs) that enable data-driven services across the organization. The role requires a Master’s degree in Data Science and 1–2 years of professional experience, ensuring the candidate possesses a solid foundation in analytical thinking and practical implementation. Leveraging expertise in Python, the Data Scientist will translate data models and analytical logic into efficient code that powers API endpoints, while utilizing the Django framework to structure these services with robustness and security. Daily responsibilities revolve around building scalable APIs, which includes defining API specifications, implementing request handling, and ensuring that each service can handle increasing loads without degradation of performance. The candidate will write clean, modular Python code within Django projects, adhering to best practices for readability and maintainability, and will incorporate appropriate error handling to provide reliable responses to consuming applications. Performance optimization will be a continuous focus; the Data Scientist will profile API calls, identify bottlenecks, and apply tuning techniques to achieve low latency and high throughput, thereby supporting real-time data access needs. Comprehensive testing strategies, including unit and integration tests, will be employed to validate functionality and guarantee that APIs meet quality standards before deployment. Documentation of API contracts, usage guidelines, and versioning policies will be produced to facilitate seamless integration by internal and external developers. The role also involves monitoring deployed APIs in production, analyzing logs, and responding to incidents to maintain service availability and reliability.
